Was this class intellectually stimulating? Did it stretch your thinking? Why or why not?
- Arman’s advanced understanding of mathematics gave a broader point of view towards the material comparatively to the curriculum itself.
- I think this quiz section was pretty great, for it being 8:30 in the morning Arman had it figured out and ready even if the questions weren't super clear, he would work his best and the content actually made more sense when he would break it down into different steps to further expand your thinking.
- This class to me was very well done. The professor was amazing and I mean beyond amazing. He really took the time out of his day and out of his personal time to make sure that we understood exactly what we were learning. If you're not doing good or struggling to get by he’s very open to helping you.
- It did stretch my thinking. Sometimes we have to think about a problem in more than one way.
- Yes, quiz sections stretched my thinking through applying concepts learned in class to the homework problems.
- Yes this class is intellectually simulating because this course uses your algebra and geometry skills and you have to really think through the problems and think carefully through them.
- I did find this class intellectually stimulating, I could get my homework done but also get practice on the recent material. When Arman went over the test prep, I understood the material better.
- I think this class was intellectually stimulating and stretched my thinking because coming to the quiz section was very helpful if I needed help on the homework. Arman was great at answering questions and always attempted to make the most of the short time he was given.
- Yes, the application-style problems really made me think deeply about the course content. I think that this course prepared me well for future math classes.
- This class was definitely intellectually stimulating because the test preps were about things that we had learned very recently and it usually takes me a couple days after learning something to fully understand it.
- The quiz section helped me understand parts of the lecture and more challenging problems.
- Yes, time spent going over problems was useful and clear.
- This class was very intellectually stimulating. At some points, it could be described as TOO stimulating. I found that the application of problems and content was very advanced.
- Yes. In the quiz sections, we went more into depth on complicated problems.
What aspects of this class contributed most to your learning?
- When Arman reviewed problems that we as students had difficulties doing.
- Definitely the extra review material that he provided along with the Zoom meetings and extra view time for exams.
- Arman's willingness to answer questions.
- Arman was great at explaining the math material and was always willing to go beyond simply teaching what he has to teach and allowing us to understand the material better by exploring the concepts clearer. There have been many times in which I did not understand what was going on in lecture and it was clearly explained by Arman. Also, the Discord group chat was a great idea.
- I liked how Arman would first go over some problems that most people have trouble with.
- I really liked how Arman allowed us to take time to work on the homework. He also went over it. It really helped me out.
- I think the time given to ask questions about the homework contributed the most to my learning because that was what gave me the most clear understanding on what I was being asked to do.
- Arman was really helpful in answering my questions. He was able to explain complex problems really well. What I learned during the quiz section helped me perform better on the exams.
- I think the most helpful parts were when class discussions actually led somewhere and were productive to where each problem we talked through led to another equation or new understanding.
- Arman was really helpful with providing resources to study with for exams.
- Having the opportunity to see examples of application in class and also have the opportunity to ask questions and focus on topics in the quiz section.
